Well, I have been working on the latest off and on for the past several weeks. It is almost finished, in fact, I hope to string it up tonight if all goes well. I will post more photos when it is done, but here is a sneak preview.

This is the back and the rest of the billet that I cut it from (still 2" thick). Bookmatched, it makes the face of a bison. And I have a bookmatched crotch figured ebony peghead veneer that makes a figure of a bison skull in the center. So I figure I will call this my "Buffalo SJC"

Will get some more photos up after I get it strung up.

Grant

Hey Grant,

I think you may need to post the picture again, this one is distorted. Funny thing is, the rest of the picture came through just fine, but the cocobolo is all wavy and wild and crazy. Something must have happened in cyberspace!

Hey Grant,

That's a gorgeous job. Are you at all interested in selling a back/sides set from that piece of wood? That's exactly what I've been looking for.

Well, I strung it up last night and finished the nut slots and preliminary setup this morning. I will let it settle in for a week or so, and then I may have to give the neck adjusting bolt an eighth of a turn, but that should be it. Here are a few quick photos. Still have a few spots in the finish to rebuff and I am going to change the bridge pins to better match the "aged" moose bone nut and saddle. Please excuse the reflections and dust specks. As I said, these were quickie photos.

Yes, there is a tad of runnout in the top, but it sounds great. This is white spruce from locally here in Minnesota and the trees are rather small.

A close look at the cocobolo back.

Here is the figured ebony peghead with the "bison skull" figure in the center. It shows more in the actual guitar. All the binding is bloodwood/figured English harewood/ebony.

This is the neck/body joint on my adjustable neck design. The neck heel is inlet through the sides to the neck block.

Here is a closeup of the white spruce (Picea glauca) top. The silk in this species is not as visually noticeable due to the overall light color of the wood. It is fine and delicate, and gives a lusterous sheen that I really like. Sounds great, too

Hope you enjoyed the pics

Grant

I will, but I need to take some time to catch up on my wood orders first.

Guess some folks are having trouble accessing it on the other forum. Might be just because yesterday there seemed to be some things not working there, I don't know for sure. I will just post the basics, since the thread over there was over 150 pages long when I printed it out last year

Grant, That is so beautiful. I can see you posted all the relevant pics as well but I can't imagine there could be enough, are you sure you don't have another angle or two you could post?

Absolutely beautiful. I like the figured ebony peghead as much as the cocobolo.
